Best Areas to Stay in Dubai When Visiting

Today’s video on where to stay in Dubai when visiting, which are the best areas. Day 6/30 of my Facebook LIVE 30 day video challenge. I challenged myself to make more videos and answer readers questions. I receive so many emails that it is much easier to just answer them. Plus I am practising for my big audience presentations later on this year. Win Win.

Every day at 8pm UK time for 30 days I am making one video question. Honestly, it is so much fun and the feedback is great, though it takes a loooot of commitment as I found out. Quite proud of myself!

In the video, I discuss the three areas that I consider to be best for tourists when visiting Dubai. Since Dubai doesn’t have a city centre and it is spread out many who visit for the first time want to know their best options.

Deira / Dubai Creek area – this is more of the old town area of Dubai close to the airport. You can find the old souq (market) there, shopping and there are no skyscrapers. You can also take an abra (boat) from one the Deira  side to the Creek site and even have dinner aboard. Hotels are plentiful and cheap and it is a great area to explore where you are staying there or not. Plus it is much cheaper to buy your souvenirs from there. It is easily accessible via the metro as well.

Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall – The famous Dubai mall and the tallest building in the world. This area is great if you love shopping and want to be close to the mall. There are many hotels there but there is not much space for walking outside. You will have to take taxis or the metro to reach other areas of Dubai. If you are visiting in the summer it can get really hot walking around. Many of the hotels are also located on Sheikh Zayed road which is a busy road  artery of the city and can be noisy. Great if you are there for business.

Dubai Marina /JBR walk – Dubai marina is a man-made area with yachts and skyscrapers, at night it reminds you of the city of New York. One thing I love about this area is that the walk has plenty of hotels, restaurants and area to walk around. During the weekend is buzzing with tourists and locals alike. You are also next to the Jumeirah beach. Easy to reach other areas with the metro as well. Hotels on JBR or the Marina are a little pricey however further in and you can find some great prices and still close enough. This area is great for a young family or elderly as there is plenty to do during the evening and within walking distance.

In the video, I also talk about a 4th area good for honeymooners and beach holidays.
