Hotel Review: Holiday Inn London Heathrow Airport

Trip Index

and more to come

After we landed in Heathrow from our domestic leg from Manchester we headed to the Holiday Inn London Heathrow airport by using the free bus just outside the terminal. There are free public buses that take you from Heathrow Terminals to Bath road the main strip with all the hotels. It takes approximately 20 minutes (the same amount of time as a Hopa Bus) with the difference being that the free bus saves you £9 per person. Which if you are a family or four or five can be quite a large sum.

I have stayed in the Holiday Inn before and I reviewed the property and their Executive rooms here. This time I booked a standard room on my husband’s name as I am running his “Set your Sights” offer and we only spent less than 7 hours in the hotel.

We were greeted by a friendly staff member who checked us in straight away. What made an impression on me is the fact that he was not aware of their hotel’s current promotion even though there was a big poster in the elevator. Maybe it is just me but I would expect staff to be aware of their current offers unless this is a blogger’s vice then I would understand. 😉

The room:

The room was nice and it looked like it was recently redecorated. I much prefer this type of room than the Executive room I had during my previous stay due to the modern factor. However, the hotel should pay a little more attention to their cleaning as the sheet and the curtain did have some stains.

It seems that the bathroom didn’t get any attention during this fresh-up of the hotel, unfortunately. They always reminded me of the cruising bathroom with all the plastic sinks. And they can do with some freshening up as well.

Overall it is an OK room for £55 per night and near the airport. At 5 am I had never seen Terminal five at Heathrow so empty, like a ghost town. 🙂
